लभेत सिकतासु तैलमपि यत्नतः पीडयन्पिबेच्च मृगतृष्णिकासु सलिलं पिपासार्दितः ।कदाचिदपि पर्यटन् शशविषाणमासादयेत्न तु प्रतिनिविष्टमूर्खजनचित्तमाराधयेत् ॥४॥labheta sikatāsu tailamapi yatnataḥ pīḍayanpibecca mṛgatṛṣṇikāsu salilaṃ pipāsārditaḥ |kadācidapi paryaṭan śaśaviṣāṇamāsādayetna tu pratiniviṣṭamūrkhajanacittamārādhayet ||4||
Translation
One can extract oil from the sand particles by effort if need be! A thirsty man can drink the water from a mirage-river also! At some time or other, wandering here and there, one may chance to get a hare’s horn! But one can never satisfy the mind of an obstinate blockhead! ॥ 4 ॥
