पापान्निवारयति योजयते हितायगुह्यं निगूहति गुणान्प्रकटीकरोति ।आपद्गतं च न जहाति ददाति कालेसन्मित्रलक्षणमिदं प्र्वदन्ति सन्तः ॥६५॥pāpānnivārayati yojayate hitāyaguhyaṃ nigūhati guṇānprakaṭīkaroti |āpadgataṃ ca na jahāti dadāti kālesanmitralakṣaṇamidaṃ prvadanti santaḥ ||65||
Translation
(A GOOD FRIEND)
Stops one from doing a sinful act; guides one towards well-being; keeps the secrets confided to him safely; openly talks about friend’s good qualities; does not discard one when in trouble; gives any help at needed times; these are the signs of a good friend; so proclaim the learned! ॥ 65 ॥
