आशा नाम नदी मनोरथजला तृष्णातरङ्गाकुलारागग्राहवती वितर्कविहगा धैर्यद्ुमध्वंसिनी ।मोहावर्तसुदुस्तरातिगहना प्रोत्तुङ्गचिन्तातटीतस्याः पारगता विशुद्वमनसो नन्दन्ति योगीश्वराः ॥१०॥āśā nāma nadī manorathajalā tṛṣṇātaraṅgākulārāgagrāhavatī vitarkavihagā dhairyadumadhvaṃsinī |mohāvartasudustarātigahanā prottuṅgacintātaṭītasyāḥ pāragatā viśudvamanaso nandanti yogīśvarāḥ ||10||
Translation
The river called the ‘Desire’ flows filled with the waters of ‘imaginations of the mind’; turbulent with the waves of ‘thirst for pleasures’; filled with the crocodiles of ‘attraction and repulsion’; with hovering birds namely ‘illogic’; uprooting the tree of ‘courage’; difficult to cross because of the eddies of ‘delusion’; very deep; and bound by high rising banks of ‘worries’. Only the ‘great yogis of pure minds’, cross the river to the other side and are truly happy. ॥ 10 ॥
